• Perfluoroketene dithioacetals
They are versatile building blocks allowing the introduction of a wide variety of functionalized  nucleophilic species due to the presence of a vinyl fluoride. Also, the presence of a masked carboxylic function defines them as synthetic equivalents of 2-hydroperfluorocarboxylic acid derivatives. Their umpolung reactivity, associated to the vinyl fluoride substitution, significantly extends their applications.

• Perfluorinated pyridazines
- The pyridazine moiety is an interesting pharmacophore widely used in medicinal chemistry. It is a known ingredient of drug molecules. It is an interesting ring, used as a pharmacophore in several classes of derivatives possessing a variety of pharmalogical properties. Generally the presence of a pyridazine confers better bioavailibility to a biologically active molecule, especially into the CNS, and reduces the toxicity.
- It is well-known that pyridazines can be used for isosteric replacements of phenyl or heteroatomic rings.
- Pyridazines may improve the physico-chemical properties of a drug molecule by increasing their water solubility, and by creating additional interactions and / or binding possibilities. This way, better interactions with the target proteins are favored.

The presence of a perfluorinated group directly linked to the ring confers an additional originality to the pyridazines.
