Incorporation of fluorine atom(s) into a molecule could considerably modify its physico-chemical and biological properties, and so the use of fluorine in potential drugs or for crop-protection is increasing.

Continuous efforts are being made to  develop new and more efficient synthetic tools for the synthesis of novel fluorinated biologically active compounds.
